Three Reasons Why A Multi-Carrier Network For Voice T1 PRI Service Is Better Than One

1. Downtime is virtually eliminated

By including two or more carriers in your network design, worrying about downtime becomes a thing of the past. You can easily employ this level of redundancy through a telecom service provider who resells the networks of multiple large tier 1 carriers. By using a RESELLER (rather than going direct to a single carrier), you are not bound to one network. So in the event of an outage, the reseller (or multi-carrier provider), automatically switches traffic to an alternative carrier within minutes. Business continues to run without interruption. Plus, you receive the added benefit of only having to deal with one invoice and one point of contact. To best use this strategy, contact the telecom broker/consultant listed at the bottom of this article for assistance, as there are many hundreds of resellers out in the market today.

2. Traffic is sent via the least cost route

A great way to save money on each call is to send traffic to the least expensive carrier, depending on where the call is terminated (or originated, if it’s an inbound toll-free call). More carriers in a network design means more savings. For maximum cost reduction choose a calling plan that implements “pin point” pricing, also called lata-based, OCN, or NPA/NXX pricing. This is where every single call utilizes LCR (least cost routing) which sends a call to the lowest priced carrier for that particular region. This is a very sophisticated type of plan which offers a savings over “flat rate” calling plans that add surcharges to round out the flat cent per minute rate.

3. You can be your own Resp Org

The ultimate in control and disaster recovery for incoming toll-free (800, 866, 877, 888, etc) calls. You receive access to the SMS/800 database to manage your traffic and make changes whenever necessary. All handled through a powerful online interface, which can be available for FREE through various telecom resellers. Normally, direct access to the SMS/800 database can cost upwards of $250 per month. This solution provides the highest level of disaster recovery on inbound 8xx calls. Also affords you with the ability to instantly reserve and capture toll-free numbers for use.
